Online travel platform Expedia is laying off around 1,500 workers worldwide. The company is cutting about 9 percent of its total workforce as part of an organizational and technological transformation. News Reuters.
Earlier this month, Expedia warned of a restructuring of the company, with air ticket prices falling in 2024. At the time, it was also reported that CEO Peter Kern had resigned. An Expedia Group spokesperson said, “This new initiative is aimed at optimizing the workforce by prioritizing the most important tasks.”
