US tech giant Apple has paid a $13.65 million fine imposed by Russia. The fine was imposed for taking advantage of their dominance in in-app payments earlier. Russia’s antitrust agency Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) reported this news with reference to Reuters.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) said Apple paid the fine on January 19 and the funds were transferred to Russia’s federal budget.
In February 2023, the FAS said Apple had paid nearly $12.1 million in fines in another antitrust case for allegedly abusing its dominance in the mobile apps market.
