Amazon’s AI chatbot Alexa will cost you soon. In running and managing AI applications requires huge investment and hardware, the e-commerce giant said. So, you may have to pay for Alexa from early next year.
Amazon plans to launch ‘Paid Alexa’ for customers in June 2024. But under special circumstances it has been postponed till 2025.
The paid version of Alexa is called ‘Alexa Plus’. Works similarly to Microsoft’s ChatGPT Plus and CoPilot Pro.
Amazon will use personalized AI in paid Alexa. Customers will get something extra. But not for free. Amazon will also work on different languages in the future. A preview of it has already been released. There, Alexa was seen answering ‘just like a human’. It is surprising to see such a form of artificial intelligence. But it needs money to run and maintain. The company therefore plans to move to a ‘paid model’.
