Facebook-owned company Meta is shutting down its Workplace app as the company shifts its focus to building artificial intelligence and Metaverse technology.
Workplace will begin to completely close in June 2026 for customers. But Meta will allow it to be used as an internal messaging board. And new users will be able to access it till August next year.
A Meta spokesperson said, “We are closing Workplace to focus more on building AI and Metaverse technologies. We believe it will fundamentally change the way we work. Over the next two years, we will have the opportunity to migrate our Workplace users to Workvivo on Zoom. Currently its only migration partner.
