Social media giant Facebook has added new tools to Reels for content creators. The new tool, called ‘AB Testing’, will allow creators to experiment with different captions and thumbnail images. As a result, it will be known whether a video will reach more audience or get views. Now the feature will be available only in the mobile version. Meta has hinted at introducing AI tools to automatically generate captions and thumbnails in the future.
Tech website Gadgets Now reports that creators will be able to add up to four different caption and thumbnail combinations when creating Facebook Reels on smartphones. This will initiate a testing phase of the content. The version of this content that gets the most views will automatically be shown as the ‘winning variant’ on the page. This will allow you to check which content gets the most views.
A separate group of users can also watch different versions of the same video for 30 minutes. After testing, the version with the highest number of views will be selected and displayed on the content creator’s profile. However, the creator can upload the video version of his choice.
Meanwhile, Meta has launched a new professional dashboard to see the performance of all posts. With this, creators can easily take actions like hiding posts from profiles or moving them to trash.
Facebook’s dashboard will now provide more detailed information about how creators’ content is responding. Creators will be able to view performance reports for the entire 90 days instead of 28 days.
This information on the dashboard includes – How many views individual reels are getting compared to other videos created by creators. Apart from this, the audience can know at what stage of the video they stopped watching and how many times they played it through this dashboard.
