Project White Cap is an initiative by JCI Dhaka West & BASIS Institute of Technology & Management (BITM) for the society to bring some underprivileged madrasa students under the umbrella of ICT education. JCI Dhaka West, president Md. Altamis Nabil informed on Fraiday, that JCI Dhaka West and BITM have recently signed an MoU to organize this in Dhaka.
“As a part of our journey towards Digital Bangladesh may be incomplete if one community we left behind. We will fill the gap and ignite the true potential from those candidates. In future we are aiming to train the trainers among Madrasa teachers to increase the periphery of this learning among the Madrasa students.” – said by 2022 Local President of JCI Dhaka West.
“As a part of CSR activities, BITM has been involved with this fantastic initiative and with this we want to contribute to the Quality Education goal for the UN SDG’s.”- Added by CEO of BITM, Talukder Mohammad Shabbir.
All the madrasa students with below 21 years across the country are encouraged to apply by clicking here by 10th May and shortlisted candidates will get the opportunity to enroll to these 2 months course with full scholarships. The badapps, Bangladesh Positive Foundation, Lightshore foundation, PencilBox Training Institute are the partners of this initiative.
In a recent study, it was found that, the total number of madrasa students in Bangladesh is around 1.5 crore and 75 percent of madrasa students now remain unemployed in different forms as they have no opportunity to engage in jobs based on their education and skills. Without proper skill-based ICT education, their contribution to the society and competitive job market is impossible. As existing structures hardly meet the requirements to provide opportunities for all, whereas a course focused on a strong understanding of ICT education can make a big difference. To keep that in mind JCI Dhaka West along with BITM are launching a project which primarily focuses on madrasa students of young age. In this project white cap, the shortlisted participants will be facilitated with individual computer-related soft skills for multiple courses followed by certification and provide them necessary resources along with tiffin, mentorship and some job placement which will make their understanding more robust.
