Land Secretary Md. Mostafizur Rahman informed that a total of 5 crores and 12 Lakh Record of Rights (RoR/Khatiyan/Porcha) have already been uploaded online.
Land Secretary provided the information while delivering the chief guest’s address at a memorandum of understanding ceremony between the Ministry of Land and Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd. (DPDC) of the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources at the conference room of the Ministry of Land on today Sunday. DPDC Managing Director Engineer Bikash Dewan was present on the occasion.
Additional Secretary (Field Administration) of the Ministry of Land Pradip Kumar Das and DPDC Company Secretary Md. Asaduzzaman have signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations.
The MoU has given utmost importance to the protection of the personal information of the landowner and the electricity consumer.
By collecting the information of the addresses of all the power connections of an individual, the Ministry of Land will be able to know what the land is actually being used for.
Land ministry spoke person Sayed Md. Abdullah Al Nahyan informed that this will make it easier to uncover illegal ‘out of class’ land use information and land development tax evasion by verifying the class of concerned land and its actual use. It is expected that the actual land revenue collection of the government will increase significantly.
On the other hand, in the case of power connection, DPDC will be able to verify the information of the actual owner of the land by verifying the accuracy of the land document submitted by an individual or the copy of the submitted land deed, he further aded.
