The second Digital Devices and Innovation Expo ended on Saturday with the virtual participation of 12 million people. Of these, 2 lakh 8 thousand visitors participated in the virtual exhibitions of 218 organizations. In this three-day virtual fair, 10 seminars, 4 workshops and meetings of four focus groups have expressed their determination to take the country to a world-leading position in the creation and innovation of digital devices. Therefore, apart from policy support and investment attraction, the issue of development and protection of intellectual property rights has become important above all.
Speaking as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said that digital devices have played a pivotal role in the development of the country during the ongoing Corona pandemic situation and the confidence of the people in it has increased at a large extent.
He said, “Using digital devices, we have continued to make progress in every sector even in pandemic situations. From mills, factories, we conveyed the masses and informed them about healthy and safe life following a hygienic lifestyle. They were reassured. They had their deep-rooted confidence in Bangabandhu’s daughter. For which the conspirators are not getting any chance yet.”
The Industries Minister suggested that legal steps should be taken to preserve intellectual property to take the innovation forward.
Combatting Corona has aways been a major issue in IT sector. Imparting Training sessions through internet for creating skilled manpower has been a priority. Domestic companies or foreign companies setting up factories in the country are selling products outside the borders. As a result, the people of the country can proudly utter the phrases like ‘Made in Bangladesh’, ‘Make Here, sell Everywhere’ and so on. Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director (Secretary) of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority made such a comment.
In his welcome address, Monirul Islam, Secretary-General of Bangladesh Computer Society, said that the expo has created a bridge between government and non-government organizations, entrepreneurs and investment organizations.
He remarked, ‘Digital Devices and Innovation Expo’ as ‘a milestone for Digital Bangladesh’. This expo has created a bridge between government and non-government organizations, entrepreneurs and investment organizations. Bangladesh will move forward through this relationship. Young people have been inspired by this expo.
Although the Digital Device &Innovation Expo was supposed to be held in physical participation, the event was held virtually due to deteriorating Corona situations.
