State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak will preside over the discussion program titled “Agenda No. 2(A) – Key Theme: Enabling Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific and Agenda No. 3: Least Developed Countries, Special Organization of Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States”. The discussion will be held at the 80th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on Tuesday.
The 80th session of the Commission on Economic and Social Development in Asia and the Pacific has begun at the United Nations Conference Center in Thailand. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak is staying in Bangkok on Monday (April 22) to attend the five-day session. State Minister Palak will preside over the discussion on Agenda-2(A) and Agenda-3 in the main program of the 80th Conference of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) today, Tuesday (23 April 2024) at 2 pm.
On Monday evening, on the first day of the three-day visit, he met with Michael Moody, Deputy Head of the UNCC Department of Technology, at Escape Hall in Bangkok. In the meeting, he discussed creative economic policy, PDPA of Bangladesh, standard AI policy, role of AI in safe driving and its impact on health, logistics and power sectors. Also, a fruitful discussions on setting up of AI Security Institute and e-Quality Center in Bangladesh were held in the meeting.
Earlier, he attended the opening ceremony at the United Nations Conference Center (ESCAP Hall).
The conference, titled “Leveraging Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific”, is hoped to be an opportunity to strengthen regional collaborative action in accelerating the agenda to ensure digital innovation benefits for all by 2030.
