Mobile operator Banglalink has been deploying volunteers for rendering supports with free buses, luggage handling services, prayer mat delivery for passengers who are returning home during the Eid holidays. This information was learnt in a press release sent to the media on Saturday.
It is informed that this initiative has been taken to strengthen the 4G network facilities as well as to make it easier and more pleasant for common people to return to their loved ones as part of social responsibility.
Among the initiatives, Banglalink is going to provide free bus service from Dhaka to the northern part of the country to help the underprivileged people to return home during Eid. For those who cannot share the joy of Eid with their loved ones due to financial constraints, this service will multiply their Eid happiness.
Besides, Banglalink’s volunteer team will be present at Dhaka’s main bus terminals – Gabtali, Mohakhali and Saidabad, main railway stations – Kamlapur and airport station and Sadarghat launch terminal with a bunch of other services.
Also, Banglalink’s dedicated team will assist passengers with moving luggage and trolley bags to ensure a comfortable journey. Banglalink will distribute hand fans to the homebound passengers on Eid from different parts of Dhaka to bring relief in the intense heat of Chaitra, the last month of Bangla calendar when the weather starts getting hotter.
In addition, Banglalink will arrange prayer places and mats for praying at all land, rail and sea stations so that passengers can perform their prayers uninterruptedly during the journey.
Even the important highways of the country such as Dhaka-Chattogram, Dhaka-Sylhet, Dhaka-Rangpur and Dhaka-Jashore highways, along with the stopover points, Banglalink’s volunteer team will be actively present to assist passengers during the last 7 days of fasting at a total of 20 places outside Dhaka.
In this regard, Banglalink Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman said, “At Banglalink, we give utmost importance to compassion and social responsibility, especially when people from all over the country come together for the festival.
