Learning assessment score ‘Noipunno‘ app has been closed since January 22. When trying to input the assessment score it says ‘all activities of the craft are temporarily closed’. As a result, most of the school teachers were not able to give input. All in all, after three months of the current academic year, only a handful of schools are giving regular input. The teachers are in trouble. The parents also expressed their disappointment.
In some district level schools including major main schools in Dhaka, it was found that most of the teachers did not input the assessment scores of the students into the ‘ Noipunno ‘ app. The app is not being used effectively in important schools of the country. And the educational institutions in the remote areas of the country could not start even after the month of February is over. Even though school registration and student registration are done in Noipunno App, the rural educational institutions have not started inputting the assessment.
Jahura Begum, principal of Udayan Higher Secondary School, said that the app is currently unable to work. She said that she is currently unable to work on the app. Entering the app shows – ‘All activities of Noipunno are temporarily closed’. So, they are preparing assessment in hard copy. Similarly, as the assessment app is not functional, they are also unable to meet with the parents. Because the parents will want to know about the evaluation only when the meeting is called.
However, the teachers have not received any instructions as to when this deadlock will end. Similarly, on March 4, a coordination committee was formed to finalize the implementation and evaluation system of the new curriculum, but teachers and parents expressed concern about the progress of the coordination committee’s work. This is their concern as they do not get any clear instructions on how the written test will be conducted. In this situation, the parents are angry at the loss of trust but do not want to reveal their names.
Member of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (Curriculum) Professor Md. Mashiuzzaman said that work is going on to solve the problem. It will be fixed during the holidays.’
However, if the classes start again from April 21 after the Eid holidays, almost four months of the current academic year will be passed. Teachers and parents have blamed the failure of NCTB for not being able to start the evaluation even now. They say, without creating so many problems, collective evaluation should be done based on the entire syllabus. And must have a written test of certain marks.
