On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the advance selling of inter-city train tickets for the April 4th began on the second day of advance train ticket sales. Tickets were available through the railway website and mobile app from 8 am onwards. The sale of tickets for the western region started at 8 am on this day. In addition, tickets for the eastern region started to be sold at 2 pm.
However, in the first two and a half hours, 14,000 tickets for the eastern region were sold out. Kamlapur Railway Station Manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar conveyed this information to reporters on Monday, 25 March at 11:00 am.
He said that the sales of train tickets for western region from Dhaka has started at 8 am. The latest information we received at 10:30 am shows that 14,000 tickets have been sold.
He also said that the sales of tickets for the eastern region will start from 2 pm. In the western region bound trains, there are about 16 thousand seats. Tickets for April 4th were given out today. Tickets for 42 pairs of inter-city trains departing from Dhaka this year are being given in two phases. On the occasion of Eid, these advance tickets will be sold completely online.
It is known that during the previous Eids, 5-day advance tickets were sold; but this time, for the first time, the railways will sell 7-day advance tickets. 100% of tickets will be sold online to make train journeys hassle-free for the homebound people on Eid. According to the railway authorities, 100% of tickets for the advance and return journey of Eid are being sold online. Passengers can purchase a maximum of one ticket for Eid advance journey and return journey. A passenger can purchase a maximum of four tickets.
