The Standing Committee on Railway Ministry has recommended the installation of closed circuit cameras in front of trains to find out the causes of train accidents. At the same time, it is recommended to take necessary measures to complete the contract with Shohoz.com for online train ticketing within the next 2 months.
On Wednesday, March 20, the second meeting of the committee was held chaired by President of the committee A. B. M Fazle Karim Chowdhury. The point has been recommended there.
In the meeting, it was recommended to install closed circuit cameras in front of the train to find out the causes of the train accidents and to introduce the technology to automatically stop the train before a possible accident by installing sensor system. At the same time, the committee has instructed to provide the updated information on the percentage of completion of equipment supply in the next meeting as per the agreement made with Sohoz.com in online ticketing.
The meeting also discussed the activities undertaken by Bangladesh Railways on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, passenger service and ticket management and the progress of construction of Dhirashram Container Depot.
A member of the committee to investigate the fact that the construction of a one-story building in Rajshahi railway station has been stopped after piling. Convener Shafiqur Rahman, Muhammad Saiful Islam and Mosammat Nurun Nahar Begum A sub-committee was formed with as a member.
Committee members: Railway Minister Md. Zillul Hakim, Members of Parliament Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Muhammad Saiful Islam, Md. Shafiqur Rahman and Mosammat Nurun Nahar Begum participated in the meeting.
It was recommended to provide updated information in the next meeting on the total area of railway land, leased land and how and by whom the land is being used.
In the meeting, it was recommended to conduct an on-the-spot inspection of the train compartment derailment near Hasanpur railway station in Nangoalkot, Cumilla.
The meeting was attended by the secretary of the Ministry of Railways and the concerned officials of the Ministry and Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat.
