Automation of Dhaka University (DU) education program is going on. On Wednesday, March 13, the DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal inaugurated the ‘Learning Management System’ and ‘Examination Automation System’ of various departments under the faculty of Earth and Environment Sciences.
While speaking as the chief guest in the opening ceremony of the automation program held in the auditorium of the department of geology, the vice-chancellor said that the learning management system and examination automation system programs have been started from the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences with the aim of bringing every activity of the university under automation. This program will be introduced in all faculties gradually. Through this, various activities including teaching and examination of the teachers will be more modern and examination results can be published at the right time.
Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal also said that under these automation systems, the quality of education and research of the university will be improved. The Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that there will be dynamics in the overall management and transparency and accountability will be ensured in all areas.
Dean of the faculty Professor Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman presided over the event, while the Pro Vice-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof. Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachhar spoke as a special guest. Learning management system and examination automation system activities were presented by the director of ICT cell Dr. Mohammad Asif Hossain Khan. At that time, teachers of various departments of the faculty were present.
Through this automation, teachers will be able to view and control their scheduled courses, teaching and examination activities through the dashboard by logging into their respective accounts. Besides, students can view class attendance, scheduled semester or year courses, class attendance, various exam results and all information about the class through their own dashboard. The ICT cell of the university is in overall management and support of these activities.
