The court has issued arrest warrants against Evaly’s Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Russell and Chairman Shamima Nasreen in three separate cases of check fraud. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Farah Diba Chhanda’s Court issued this warrant on Monday (March 4).
After the verdict, the plaintiff’s lawyer Sakibul Islam told the reporters that Evaly’s Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Russell and Chairman Shamima Nasreen were scheduled to appear in court in three separate cases. But on this day, they did not appear in court. That is why we request the court to issue an arrest warrant against them. The court granted the application.
In a complaint filed in the court, it is said that on January 30, 2021, the plaintiff Tanveer Ahmed paid Tk 2 lakh 96 thousand 348 for the purchase of a motorcycle from the company of the defendants. Later, without giving the motorcycle, the defendants gave a check of the same amount to the plaintiff. The plaintiff filed the case in the court on February 4 for being the check dishonored.
In another case, it is said that on March 26, 2021, the plaintiff of the case Md. Main Uddin paid Tk 2 lakh 99 thousand 740 to buy a motorcycle. Later, instead of giving the motorcycle, the accused gave a check of the same amount. He filed the case in court
In another case, it is said that on March 20, 2021, the plaintiff Taufiq Mahmood paid 8 lakh 35 thousand taka to buy three motorcycles from the company of the defendants. Later, the defendants gave a check of the same amount without giving the motorcycles. The plaintiff of the case filed the case in court on February 4 being the check dishonored.
It is known that they were summoned to appear before the court in these three cases. But they did not appear. That is why the court issued an arrest warrant against them.
