This was what the State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu conveyed in a courtesy meeting with the delegation led by Stefan Liler, a representative of UNDP, in the office of the State Minister for Commerce at the Secretariat on Sunday, March 3.
He said, the government is working to bring qualified entrepreneurs and products from all over the country to the national and export markets. After the Prime Minister declared handicrafts as the product of the year, the government is working together across the country to focus on handicrafts. Now the product will be recognized along with its manufacturer and location.
The representative of UNDP, Stephan Liler, greeted the Minister of State for Commerce for his new responsibility and said that UNDP will play a supporting role in various activities during the development of Bangladesh, especially during the LDC graduation. UNDP will extend cooperation in technical and training activities to the target.
At that time, additional secretary of the ministry Mohammad Naveed Shafiullah, UNDP assistant representative Anwar Haque, assistant representative Sardar M Asaduzzaman, joint secretary Nahid Afroz, deputy secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam and others were present.
