Showing technical solutions through creativity in robots. The Team Atlas from Bangladesh won the international robotics competition Yantra 9.0 held at the Dasrath Indoor Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
The event was organized by Robotics Association of Nepal and more than 300 competitors from around the world participated in the competition. This competition was held for two days on February 10-12. The crest was handed over to the winners on February 13. The national anthem of Bangladesh was played on stage and the medal was handed over to the team leader of Team Atlas Sunny Jubair while the team members hoisted the red-green flag at the World Assembly.
Team Atlas participated in two segments of the competition, “Presidents Cup Yantra Tins” and “Soccer Bot”. They participated in this competition with a total of 9 robots. In this, using the creative skills, the Tiger Robot Team has brought out the design of Dhaka’s traditional rickshaw in robots. The 3 winning robots collected and recycled waste materials. Then, after recycling, metal and plastic were separated and put back in the fixed arena and thus stunned the judges.
BRAC University student and Team Atlas team leader Sunny Jubair said that this mission to highlight the country’s heritage with robots was successful through 3 months of hard work. He said that the members of his team have used their creativity in the robots to show how to collect garbage in an easy way through laser technology.
Jubair was accompanied by 11 other teammates on this trip. They were Sunny Jubayer, Shihab Ahmed Ananto, Md Fahim Shahriar, Md. Ezhar Hossain, Faysal Mohammed Abir, Md Tanjir Arafat, Md. Al Mahmud Alif, Mostakim Rahman Mahir, Hasibur Rahman Tareq, Mohammad Mehran Islam Mahim, Atik Shahariyar Hasan and Rakibul Hasan Nishat.
