MoU Signed between a2i and Sublime Limited
In order to build Smart Bangladesh, the government is working with the aim of providing technology-based citizen services to every people in marginal areas. In continuation of this, Aspire to Innovate-a2i and Sublime Limited will work together to establish digital service centers across the country to deliver technology-based citizen services to villages. A memorandum of understanding was signed on Wednesday (February 14) at the ICT Tower in Agargaon of the capital. a2i Project Director (Joint Secretary) Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuya and Sublime Limited Chairman Lt. Gen. Sheikh Mamun Khaled (retd) signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under this MoU, Digital Service Centers will be established to ensure technology services in every home of the underprivileged population at the village level across the country. In this regard, a2i will provide technical and overall support including creation of entrepreneurs at the village level, finalization of citizen services. Starting from registration of birth and death, payment of electricity bill, registration for going abroad, financial transactions, Sublime Limited will work to ensure all digital services.
In this regard, a2i Project Director (Joint Secretary) Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiya said that more than 385 technology-based civic services have already reached the doorstep of the people through 9397 digital centers (Unions, Municipalities, Upazilas, Zilla Parishads, City Corporation Wards and Specialized Centers) across the country. Now work will be done to ensure this service to every underprivileged people at the village level. As a result, it will be possible to deliver digital services to every person in every house in a corruption-free way in a short time at a cheap price. Every citizen will be smart. Every village will be smart. Smart citizens will build a smart nation. Every person will be connected to the digital services of this smart country.
Chairman of Sublime Limited Lt. Gen. Sheikh Mamun Khaled (retd) said that digital service centers will be established in the remote areas of the country to build a smart Bangladesh and advance the daily overall service activities of marginalized people more quickly and institutionally. This digital service center will be run by a local entrepreneur under the overall management of Sublime Limited. The overall activities of Digital Service Centers will play a special role in realizing the dream of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ‘Smart Bangladesh 2041’. Besides, this digital service center will provide visa related services, first aid services, skill development training along with money transaction services.
A2I, under the Cabinet Division and Department of Information and Communication Technology and supported by UNDP, is providing technical and overall support in the process of making IT-enabled citizen services inclusive and innovative in building Smart Bangladesh. At the MoU signing ceremony, Sublime’s Chief Executive Brigadier General (retd) Imamul Huda, Chief Business Development Officer Captain (retd) Mayez Uddin, Chief Operating Officer Sheikh Aminur Rahman, a2i Joint Director (Joint Secretary) Molla Mizanur Rahman, Head of Digital Financial Service and Digital Center Md. Tahurul Hasan, Capacity Development Coordinator Ashok Biswas and related senior officials of a2i and Sublime Limited and media persons were present.
