Dhaka Residential Model School and College-DRMC will hold International Tech Carnival on April 28. In this carnival, the college is going to start giving innovative grants in memory of a former student of DRMC martyred Lt. Sheikh Jamal. Innovation Entrepreneurship Academy of ICT Division will give Sheikh Jamal grant of Tk 30 lakh per year as the sponsor of that grant. And another 20 lakhs will be given for the event. ICT Division also announced the establishment of 2 labs in DRMC at a cost of about 16 crore taka.
The state minister for Telecom and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak expressed these promises in the announcement of the opening ceremony of the 7th DRMC International Tech Carnival on Tuesday. The state minister said that the government is working to build an innovative ecosystem, entrepreneurial supply chain and startup culture.
Referring to the theme of the carnival, while Palak asked the students present, “Are your startups ready? Are you ready to embrace Smart Bangladesh?” At that time, everyone answered in unison – “Yes sir”.
While speaking as the chief guest at the event, the state minister Palak said that from the project of establishing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy of Information and Communication Technology Division, the first fabrication lab with the cost of three and a half crores of robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D printer and other advanced technologies will be established and another specialized lab will be established at the cost of 120 crores in the second phase.

Brigadier General Kazi Shamim Farhad, principal of Dhaka Residential Model College presided over the event while Narunnabi, the Chief Coordinator of the event, spoke among others. In the ceremony, the two students of Residential Model College who went to Greece and got bronze medals were awarded by the state minister.
In the event, it was informed that three labs have been provided from the ICT Division in this university of about 6 thousand students and 200 teachers. Students from 45 countries will participate in this international tech carnival organized at DRMC under the auspices of the ICT Division.
