Disabled people are more diligent and responsible at work than healthy people: Palak
The state minister for Telco and ICT has expressed his opinion that Bangladesh Computer Council is a milestone in replicating Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla so that no one is left behind in a discrimination-free smart Bangladesh. He said that in the last 10 years, about 1600 people with special needs got jobs through this fair.
While speaking as the chief guest, he said, although the number is not so big, I would like to humbly say that if we can provide employment for 1600 people in ten years from a ministry or department alone; If all 50 ministries put in a little effort, we could provide jobs for at least 50,000 disabled brothers and sisters. We are trying our best. About private entrepreneurs in IT- ITES sector; among them, BACCO said, specially-abled people tend to pay more attention to call center services than healthy ones. If you dare to hire a disabled person, they will definitely not disappoint you. Your business will expand further. They are more diligent and responsible at work than the healthy ones.
The state minister also said that BCC has provided ICT training for the disabled in 64 districts of the country. One such person is Najma Akhtar of Sonagazi, Feni. She passed SSC, and then got 5 months of training and now she has become a successful IT entrepreneur. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance approves this project to continue this success in the next financial year too.
The State Minister Palak called for the use of the Emporia.gov.bd portal, so that the disabled can take skill development training at home. At the same time, he requested the Director General of NGO Bureau to provide jobs to disabled people.
