Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, “Those who burn people with petrol bombs, attack hospitals, burn Quran, burn cars and school buildings, they are not a political party, nor are these political programs.” As long as they raise the cover like this, the country and society will be under threat.’
He said, ‘Dialogue may be initiated with political parties, there cannot be any dialogue with fire terrorists. Rather, the government is determined to eliminate them. To those who talk about dialogue with them, the question is – what is the point of discussion with terrorists? Terrorists have to be eliminated.’
The information minister expressed his views while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the mural and documentary entitled ‘Bangabandhu Means Bangladesh’ restored on Jamal Khan road in Chattogram on Saturday (November 25).
On June 14, Chattogram City Corporation mayor valiant freedom fighter Rezaul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated the restoration ceremony while the Daily Azadi editor MA Malek delivered his speech as a special guest at the restoration of Bangabandhu’s mural and historical heritage documentaries vandalized by protesters on Jamal Khan road in Chattogram on June 14.
Minister of Broadcasting thanked Jamalkhan Ward Councilor Shaibal Das Suman and sponsors Diamond Cement and Dainik Azadi for restoring Bangabandhu’s murals and documentaries in a new form. Hasan said, ‘Actually, BNP-Jamaat only knows how to destroy. What crimes did these murals and historical documentaries do? If we can form the government again by the verdict of the people, the last arsonist will be eradicated from this country inshallah.’
‘Even a monkey now a days make face at their blockade and hartal’
Regarding the BNP-Jamaat called blockade, Hasan Mahmud said, ‘No one is accepting this blockade of BNP-Jamaat. Cars are running on the streets, offices and courts are open. Schools and colleges are also open. They could not do anything except to instill fear among the people by throwing petrol bombs at some places. After listening to their blockade and hartal for two consecutive days with a break in the middle, now a monkey also makes his face.’
