In the initiative of Aspire to Innovate-a2i for the implementation of Smart Bangladesh, an exchange meeting was held with entrepreneurs, representatives of business organizations, teachers and media workers on Sunday morning at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy (iDEA) floor of IST Tower. The Secretary of ICT Division Md. Shamsul Arefin presided over the ceremony while the a2i Project Director Mamunur Rashid Bhuya and VC of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam were present.
The ISPAB President Imdadul Haque, e-CAB General Secretary Abdul Waheed Tamal, BASIS Director Ahmedul Haque Babu, BIJF President Nazneen Nahar, TMGB President Md. Kawsar Uddin and others were also present.
The necessary advice, suggestions, recommendations and proposals for the implementation of Smart Bangladesh by 2041 were invited from the participants present in the meeting.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, while speaking as the chief guest of the occasion said that the government is now constructing Sheikh Russell Digital Lab in all madrasas. Because in the meantime, Minhaj, a student of Qaumi Madrasah, has become an icon of the youth with training from Leveraging ICT. In this way, no one will be excluded from the benefit of Smart Bangladesh.
In his speech, the State Minister outlined the timeline for the adoption of the Smart Bangladesh Master Plan from the 1st Digital Bangladesh Task Force meeting on August 3, 2010 to December 2022 and its step-by-step implementation.
Pointing out the four pillars of Smart Bangladesh to build, i.e., smart citizens, smart economy, smart government and smart social system, Palak said that to build smart citizens, 20 percent digital skills, 60 percent smart devices and 30 percent implementation of smart IDs to receive services by 2025. To do this, Agrotech, fintech, healthtech, smart grid, edutech will get priority to build a smart economy.
Meanwhile, ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak emphasized building a smart human world through humane use of technology. He said, the next government will be data driven and will create affordable digital public infrastructure. There will be smart public safety and secure cloud.
