Daffodil International University student education program is going online from Monday for a week. The university Registrar Dr. Mohammad Nadir bin Ali has passed this instruction to take all the classes of the university online for the next 7 days (until November 12). In the directive, all students have been asked to continue their studies and educational activities by participating in regular online classes from their homes or safe places.
In the context of political unrest, local residents of that area attacked Daffodil students by announcing on the microphone in Khagan area of Savar’s Birulia after Sunday evening. Several students were injured in the attack. Later in the evening, another round of clashes happened between the students and the locals. Daffodil International University was declared closed after a series of clashes. On Sunday (November 5) at midnight, the notice signed by the Registrar of the university Mohammad Nadir bin Ali writes, it was announced that the university will be closed for 11 days from Monday (November 6) to November 16.
It is said that the students of Daffodil International University are informed that as per the decision of the management, all academic activities are announced to be closed from November 6 to November 16. When the academic activities will be resumed, it will be informed later through a notification.
According to sources, miscreants picked up Hasibul Islam Antar, a student of textile department of Daffodil University on October 27 and beat him severely and left him in Khagan area. The students rescued him and took him first to Raju Hospital and then to Enam Medical in Savar. He was then admitted to a hospital in Mymensingh under the supervision of his family. Antar died on November 2 while undergoing treatment there. A murder case was registered in this incident. The accused in this case, Rahat, has been arrested by the police. The students protested by blocking the road demanding the arrest of the rest of the accused and maximum punishment. The university became heated mainly around the death of Antar.
