The two-day long ICAN6 Conference organized by the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication and International Affairs of Daffodil International University was held on August 5 and 6 at Daffodil Smart City, Dhaka.
Among the representatives of Delhi Metropolitan School of Media Education Dr. Ambarish Saxena, Professor Dr. Sushmita Bala, Professor Ashish Chatterjee, Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University Dr. Kumar Govind Suresh, Professor Odin of MRIIRS Dr. Maithili Ganju, and other eminent researchers and professionals from India in this sector were present.
Vice-Chancellor from Daffodil International University Dr. SM Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Head of Department Aftab Hossain, Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Kabil Khan and the former Chief Information Commissioner Dr. Golam Rahman delivered their speeches at the opening of the occasion.
On the first day of the event, the role of History and Identity Discourses in Cross-Cultural Communication, Plenary Session and Master Class on Research by Erasmus+ Exchange Students Experience Sharing Session, Communication Strategies and Contemporary Trends and Technical Session from Department of Journalism, Media and Communication of Daffodil International University held.
Mehrabul Haque Rafi, a recent graduate from the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, won the ‘Best Paper Presenter’ award for his graduation thesis in the technical session on the first day of the ICAN6 International Conference.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Daffodil International University and Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME) at the DIU Erasmus+ CBHE Harmony Project Lab after the first day of ICAN6. Dean of FHSS, DIU Dr. Liza Sharmin and DME Media School Dean Professor Ambarish Saxena signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
The second day of iCAN6 began with a roundtable discussion by senior professors and researchers on the future of media research from a South Asian perspective.
Dr. Ambarish Saxena said, ‘ICAN’ is no longer just my project, the ICAN6 conference continues to be a major influencer for all researchers and research enthusiasts from around the world to participate in meaningful discussions, exchange insights, and explore innovative ideas about research.’
