EDOTCO Bangladesh, the country’s integrated telecommunication infrastructure service provider, has announced the achievement of a milestone of 25,000 ‘tenancies’ across its extensive network of 17,000 towers across the country.
This achievement is a proof of the company’s determination to build a strong and comprehensive network infrastructure as part of Bangladesh’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, the company said. On June 22, the EDOTCO celebrated the milestone achievement with stakeholders at BKSP in Savar.
EDOTCO Bangladesh Country Managing Director Sunil Isaac said, “Achieving this milestone of 25,000 TNs is a matter of great pride not only for EDOTCO Bangladesh but also for the domestic telecom industry as it plays a role in meeting the nationwide connectivity needs. We are committed to connecting the unconnected population by increasing efficiency and removing barriers by rapidly deploying infrastructure sites across the country.”
He added, “Through sharable infrastructure, we can minimize tower duplication, reduce cost per gigabyte for MNOs and ensure efficient maintenance and service. Also, this initiative can reduce carbon emissions, so that instead of building new towers, the existing towers can be utilized to the maximum. We are actively coordinating with industry stakeholders to reshape the future connectivity system in line with the government’s ‘Smart Bangladesh Vision’ and at every stage we are encouraging sustainable development.”
Since its inception in 2013, EDOTCO has been instrumental in building advanced, innovative telecommunication infrastructure across the country to bridge the digital divide and ensure seamless network connectivity in Bangladesh. As a commitment to building sustainable infrastructure, Malaysia-based EDOTCO Group’s subsidiary EDOTCO Bangladesh works towards sustainable development through innovative and eco-friendly solutions such as Bamboo Towers, ‘Hybrid Solar-Wind Towers’, ‘Span Pre-stressed Concrete Towers’ and ‘Smart Pole Street Furniture’.
