Banglalink’s income from services has increased by 90 percent last year due to the improvement of service quality and the spread of 4G. Their income from digital services and data increased by 32.6 percent last year.
Banglalink’s parent company, VEON Group Chief Executive Officer Kaan Terzioglu, highlighted this in a press conference at the Tiger Garden at Gulshan in Dhaka on Monday.
Highlighting the business success of 2022 and the plan for 2023, Terzioglu said, Bangladesh is doing very well after overcoming human and natural disasters. Bangladesh is now the second largest market for VEON as the war in Russia reduced Vion’s business there.
He further said,“It is great to see VEON’s consistent investment in Bangladesh yielding pronounced results. Banglalink’s double-digit revenue growth for three consecutive quarters is a testament to its success in strengthening customers’ trust. As a part of our Digital Operator Strategy, Banglalink is on track to enhance its growth whilst contributing to the realization of a Smart Bangladesh through consistent delivery of high-quality digital services to the thriving digital market of Bangladesh.”
At the event, Banglalink CEO Erik Aas said that in March of this year, the number of Banglalink subscribers has exceeded 40 million. They have reached 81 percent of the country’s population from 14,000 BTS of the operator. Annual revenue increased by 12.3 percent year-on-year network expansion with peak waves. And revenue from digital services has increased by 26.6 percent, resulting in the best in Ola for the last three consecutive years.
Erik said about Banglalink’s Toffee app, 52 million people have already registered in this app. Watched by 200 million customers every month. Banglalink has achieved double-digit growth in three consecutive quarters. The operator gained 5374 crore taka last year. Out of this, the income from services was Tk. 1041 crore.
