Bangladesh Innovation Forum and Space Innovation Camp have organized “Rocket Making Workshop” for the 3rd time in order to further increase science practice among children and youth and encourage children and youth to develop science and technology through various fun science projects where children themselves model rockets. By making and launching the rocket they have made, they have learned about the different parts of the rocket, the history of the rocket, how the rocket works, and how a rocket can fly in the sky by doing various mathematical calculations.
About 50 students aged 4 to 14 from all over Bangladesh participated in this workshop held on Saturday (March 18, 2023) at the National Museum of Science and Technology in the capital. In the event, children were divided into different groups and made 3 types of model rockets, water rockets and vehicle rockets.
The event was co-hosted by the National Museum of Science and Technology and the chief guest, Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of the National Museum of Science and Technology said, “Through this workshop, a seed of science has been sown in the minds of children, from among them we will see our future scientists and This organization of Bangladesh Innovation Forum impressed me, we will work together in a bigger environment in the coming days.
Director (Joint Secretary) of National Museum of Science and Technology, K. M. Lutfur Rahman Siddique and Zahura Begum, Principal of Udayan Higher Secondary School were also present as special guests.
On behalf of the organizers, Ariful Hasan Apu, Crew Chief of Space Innovation Camp, said, ‘This workshop is a continuation of the program we have been doing throughout the year to introduce space science to children in the guise of playing games, but in the future, this science, technology, engineering, Very soon we are going to start Space Olympiad Bangladesh in Bangladesh to bring them into syllabus based education system in Mathematics, Computing and other subjects which pre-registration has already started and anyone can register online .
