Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology, urged not to install mobile towers in schools.
He made this call in a speech given in a seminar titled “Teachers’ Role in Climate Protection”. On Sunday, 30 head teachers from various educational institutions who were training at the National Academy of Education Management (NAEM) participated in the seminar held at the National Museum of Science and Technology.
Director General of the Museum expressed his views to the head teachers in the seminar saying, “School teachers can play an important role in making students aware of climate disaster prevention. Wide public awareness should be created about the disaster of environmental pollution not only in the class room. Building brick kilns around schools is not healthy at all. Illegal and unscientifically constructed brick kilns are a threat to the environment. Donations from brick kilns cannot be received by schools. Besides, mobile towers cannot be installed on school rooftops; it is very dangerous for health. Ethical standards of teachers need to be improved; teachers are still respected in the society.”
AKM Lutfur Rahman Siddique, Director of National Museum of Science and Technology, presented the keynote at the seminar.
Ratandia RK High School Principal Md. Ayub Ali, Khulna BK Union Institute Principal Md. Mahabur Rahman and National Museum of Science and Technology Senior Curator Suklan Bachar spoke among others.
In addition, NAYEM’s training expert Sheikh Mohammad Ali was present in the seminar. After the program the trainees visited the galleries of the museum.
