Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the public meeting of Awami League at the historic madrasa grounds of Rajshahi on January 29. The Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has imposed some restrictions in the Rajshahi metropolitan area on the occasion of this public meeting.
RMP Commissioner Anisur Rahman issued this ban on Wednesday (January 25). This information was conveyed in a press release signed by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, Rafiqul Alam.
According to the notification, carrying all types of weapons, fireworks, bursting firecrackers, carrying, storing, buying and selling and using explosives and flying drones without permission has been banned in the Rajshahi metropolitan area from 27th January to 6th January 30th.
Besides, any kind of drugs such as domestic and foreign liquor, spirits/alcohol including intoxicants have been declared prohibited and all approved bars and liquor shops have been ordered to be closed during the above mentioned time. Appropriate legal action will be taken against violators.
However, weapons of law enforcement and various institutional security personnel are not covered by this ban, the notification said.
