Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman retired after serving for one year and two months. On Thursday (December 29, 2022), he was given a farewell reception in the conference room of the Bangladesh Secretariat of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications in Dhaka. Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar referred to the outgoing secretary as a very efficient government official in the event. In his words, “He (Md. Khalilur Rahman) has put the signature of utmost efficiency in every field during the performance of his duties”.
He praised the outgoing secretary for his role in sponsoring and organizing various educational institutions in addition to the official work of his professional life.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the minister said that there can be no better work than working for the welfare of the country and people. The role of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications as an administrative institution in digital connectivity and digital communication including the Internet is immense. The opportunities that this department has for the welfare of the country and the nation should be utilized more in the coming days.
In the event, the outgoing secretary expressed his strong hope to use himself for the welfare of people in the coming days. Senior officials of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications and heads of departments and organizations under the Department of Posts and Telecommunications spoke on the occasion.
The speakers highlighted various aspects of Khalilur Rahman’s working life and wished him good health and long life. An emotional atmosphere was created in the reception.
Earlier, the secretary chaired ADP meeting which was the last ADP meeting of his career as secretary.
