The University of Oklahoma and Auburn University have already banned TikTok on their campuses in their respective announcements. As a result, TikTok cannot be used from the company’s computer and WiFi network. However, students can still access TikTok on their own devices using their mobile data.
In an email from the University of Oklahoma, officials and students were informed that in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order 2022-23, from now on, no employee or student will be able to use the TikTok app or website on the university’s own or managed devices. It cannot be used on OU wire and wireless networks either.
Besides, the administrative TikTok account of the university will be closed soon and it will be launched through alternative social media.
