Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) celebrated the Martyred Intellectuals Day 2022 through various programs including laying wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Jashore city, offering prayer for the souls of intellectuals at the central mosque of the university.
The Martyred Intellectuals Day program at JUST started at sunrise with hoisting of the black flag in front of the university Administration Building and lowering the national flag to half-mast. On the occasion of the day, members of the JUST family also wore black badges.
At 8:30 in the morning, Professor Dr. Md. Anishur Rahman along with the members of the JUST family offered floral wreath on behalf of the JUST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial situated at the Shankarpasha area of Jashore town. Floral wreaths were also offered on behalf of the University Teachers’ Association, Shaheed Masiur Rahman Hall and Sheikh Hasina Student Hall. Later, the JUST Branch Chhatra League also laid wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial. A special prayer was offered at the Central Mosque after the Johar prayer. Ruhul Amin, the Senior Muezzin of the JUST Central Mosque conducted the special prayer for the salvation of the souls of the martyred intellectuals.
The JUST treasurer Prof. Md. Abdul Majid, Dean of Faculty of Biology and Technology Prof. Dr. Md. Iqbal Kabir Zahid, Dean of Faculty of Applied Science and Technology Professor Dr. Saibur Rahman Molla, Registrar Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Department Dr. Md. Alam Hossain, president of the teachers’ association Dr. Selina Akhtar and general secretary Dr. Md. Ashrafuzzaman Zahid, president of JUST Chhatra League Md. Sohail Rana, General Secretary Tanveer Faisal and students of various departments were also present. Apart from this, various department chairmen, department heads, teachers-students, officials-employees of the JUST were present in the programs.
