The Sixth ‘Digital Bangla Dash Day’ has been celebrated nationally like last year in a systematic manner. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the main program of this day with the objective focusing ‘Progressive Technology, Inclusive Development’. On the occasion of the day at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center, the participants in the construction of Digital Bangladesh will be awarded.
‘Digital Bangladesh Day’ is celebrated on December 12 every year. The previous name of this day was the ‘ICT or Information and Communication Technology Day’. On November 27, 2017, the Government of Bangladesh announced the national observance of this day and on November 26, 2018, instead of ICT Day, this day was declared as ‘Digital Bangladesh Day’.
The Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak will preside over a documentary show on the realization of the dream of Digital Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Apart from this, 4 digital parks and a publication on the motto of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ will be unveiled.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the ‘Joy Silicon Tower’, ‘Bangabandhu Digital Museum’ and ‘Bangabandhu Cineplex’ and Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center in Barisal through digital connectivity from the venue.
On the occasion of Digital Bangladesh Day 2022, the Minister of State for ICT laid a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu installed in the premises of the ICT Division. In addition to senior secretary of ICT department NM Zeaul Alam, the Managing Director of the Hi-Tech Park authority Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, a2i project director Dr. Dewan Mohammad Humayun, Start Up Bangladesh Managing Director Sami Ahmed and BACCO President Wahid Sharif were present at that time.
In the evening, he will unveil the motion poster of Bangladesh’s first cyber-thriller film “Antarjaal” and announce the release date of the ICT Division initiative.
Meanwhile, Division of Posts and Telecommunications held a special program on the occasion of the day in Agargaon. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
Apart from the capital, the day has been celebrated on a limited scale administratively at the district and Upazila levels in order to achieve austerity. In this case, various organizations of the government at the local level celebrated the day on their own initiative. Apart from this, Bangladesh Computer Association, BASIS, BAKKO, ISPAB and e-CAB celebrated the day with various events on their own initiative. e-CAB organized a football tournament to nark the day.
