The micro-blogging platform Twitter told some employees that it plans to change the price of its Twitter Blue subscription service. Musk launched Blue subscription plan with verification last month. But soon fake accounts of various brands and celebrities were created on this platform which turned into a huge controversy. It was then suspended. Twitter plans to launch the service soon.
Users will have to pay extra if they take Twitter’s Blue Tick subscription service from Apple’s iOS operating system. If the user subscribes to the Blue Tick service from the web version of Twitter, he will have to pay a predetermined fee of 7 dollars 99 cents. However, if you take this service from iOS, the monthly cost will be 10 dollars 38 cents.
According to a report by tech website TechCrunch, app developers are required to pay Apple a 30 percent fee on in-app purchases in the first year. But from the next year it went up to 15 percent. Twitter authorities decided to increase the subscription fee for Apple users mainly to cover the cost of the App Store. Twitter’s Blue Tick service is currently down. However, Apple device users will have to pay this additional fee after the restart.
Earlier, on November 28, Elon Musk made several posts targeting Apple on his Twitter handle. In the posts, he criticized Apple’s policies, accusing it of ‘privacy’. He also criticized Apple for charging up to 30 percent fees to software developers for purchases made using the App Store.
In a tweet, Musk said that instead of giving a commission, he is ready to go to war with Apple. Although Elon Musk later went to Apple’s headquarters and met with the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, they said there was a misunderstanding!
