Six court technologies were inaugurated in the Supreme Court Auditorium to clear the cases and make the judicial proceedings transparent. Chief Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui inaugurated the technologies on Tuesday (November 15) evening.
While speaking as the chief guest, the Chief Justice said that the Bangladesh Supreme Court and the Judiciary Department are going to enter a new horizon today through the use of information technology. In the changing context of the 21st century, a set of services based on information technology is going to be successfully introduced in the judicial department in the course of forming Digital Bangladesh.
Hasan Faiz Siddiqui, explaining the six technologies that have been invented, said that the first one will facilitate the process of sending case statistics from the subordinate court according to the table prepared by the monitoring committee for the subordinate court, and will help in taking future action plans by analyzing the data quickly. This software will speed up the work of the Monitoring Committee, above all it will help in de-cluttering.
The second technology allows the Subordinate Court Judges to easily upload their judgments and orders on the prepared platform, which can be easily viewed by the litigating public.
The third one is the Appellate Division Access Pass, through which traffic can be controlled in the Appellate Division Ejlash area and the information of the litigants entering the Appellate Division will be kept with us.
The fourth is Bangladesh Supreme Court App. It has been prepared keeping in mind the need to facilitate various online services and information of Bangladesh Supreme Court. All the information on the website of the Supreme Court can be found very easily. This app will be launched on Google Play Store.
An online platform prepared for the fifth Supreme Court Special Committee for Child Rights, through which statistics of children’s court cases of the country and action taken on children in conflict with the law, including measures taken on children in conflict with the law, will be able to be sent to other statistical committees very easily and quickly.
Finally, a software has been prepared to make the operation of the copying branch of the Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court dynamic, transparent and people-friendly, through which copies of judgments and orders of the Appellate Division will be provided in a very easy process. This will benefit the public on the one hand and on the other hand the activities of the Copy Branch will be easier to supervise.
He said that more than 1000 digital devices have been attached and trained in courts across the country to catch fake stamps and court fees. It has accelerated the growth of government revenue.
The Chief Justice said that the six technology-based tools will be added here today. They are just the first steps in making the judiciary more technologically reliant to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Each of the software, apps and web apps available today is rich in unique utility. Tasks that used to take hours of work can be done in a few clicks.
Judges of Appellate and High Court Divisions, Attorney General, President and Secretary of Supreme Court Lawyers Association and Supreme Court officials were present in the event under the direction of Supreme Court Registrar General Golam Rabbani.
