From November 13, Sunday, e-tickets are being launched in all bus companies in Mirpur region. And by January 31, all the bus companies in the capital are coming under e-ticketing. Apart from this, e-tickets will be introduced in the buses of all companies operating in Dhaka and surrounding districts by February 28.
On Saturday, November 12, the Secretary General of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners’ Association Khandkar Enayet Ullah conveyed this information in a press conference held at the central office of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association at Ramna in the capital.
Khandaker Enayet Ullah said that manpower has been appointed for proper management of e-ticketing. Eight workers will be appointed by the owners’ association by November 20. They will go around checking in different buses. Besides, few checkers will be kept by each bus company. A monitoring cell has been set up in Dhaka to resolve passenger complaints and issues. Two officers will coordinate it. There are three hotline numbers for reporting complaints. The hotline numbers are 01618933531, 01618936185, 01870146422.
There are 30 bus companies in Mirpur alone. Besides, there are 60 bus companies in the capital and 37 bus companies in suburban areas. There are 5 thousand 650 buses in Dhaka and suburbs. Among them, 3 thousand 314 move within the capital Dhaka, and the rest move to Dhaka and surrounding districts and Upazilas.
The press conference was attended by the office secretary of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association Samdani Khandkar, MD and Chairman of various bus companies and leaders of Mirpur, Fulbaria, Sayedabad and Gulistan labor unions.
