The video streaming giant – Netflix will run following a new policy from November. The new policy will include ads with contents. Eventually, the new service will cost three dollars less than the cheapest tier of Netflix’s current cost.
The company said that the new tier will be gradually launched in a total of 12 countries, including the United States, Brazil, Germany, Japan and Korea, over ten days in November. Viewers in the new tier will watch four to five minutes of ads every hour. Newly released movies will have fewer ads to keep the movie watching experience intact.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, however, has been saying that they don’t want to put ads on Netflix. They don’t even bother with password sharing. But Netflix bosses are reeling after losing 200,000 subscribers in the first three months of the year.
2.4 million New subscribers added to Netflix in three months. Most of them are from outside the US. Netflix is turning around through this. At the beginning of the year, they lost about two lakh customers. Currently, Netflix has a total of 223 million subscribers.
