In the opening ceremony of a workshop organized by the Bangladesh National Scientific and Technical Documentation Centre (BANSDOC) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the students raised their hands and took an oath in unison that they will be careful and aware to prevent wastage of electricity, water and gas. Especially in the ongoing current crisis, they will be much more cost-effective than before in using electricity.
They will ensure that electric lamps and fans do not run unnecessarily in university halls, residences and everywhere.
On October 18, 2022, while addressing the DU students, the Director General of National Science and Technology Museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “Power generation through fuel oil is very expensive. No matter how much power the government produces, if it is not economical and affordable, all the achievements will be in vain.
He said that the wastage in electricity usage is the result of our inconsiderate activities. If not sustainable use of natural resources and conservation of energy is not adapted, it will threaten the human civilization.” BANSDOC Director General Mir Zahurul Islam and Dhaka University Information Science and Library Management Department Chairman Professor Dr. Md.
