The team ‘Not Strong Enough’ of Dhaka University has become the champion of ICPC Asia Dhaka regional phase. ‘DU-Not Strong Enough’ won the crown by solving the highest number of solutions out of 10 programming problems. In this competition, the first runner-up team is ‘BUET Potatoes’ of Bangladesh University of Technology and Engineering and the second runner-up team is ‘JU_kzvd4729’ of Jahangirnagar University.
Besides, the other top 10 winning teams of the competition are Nerd herd of BUET, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology team SUST-Carnage and BerlekampMassey, Negative IQs of BUET, Berserkers and Dhaka. University team ‘Stacks DontFlow’ and ‘Fenrys’.
The names of the winners of the two-day long international collegiate programming competition Asia Dhaka regional phase were announced by BRAC University’s Honorary Technology Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad. BUBT Vice-Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Fayyaz Khan presided over the event.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest. Meanwhile, the state minister addressed BUBT as ‘problem solver’.
However, at the beginning, Palak expressed his dream of becoming a rock artist on stage.
ICPC Asia Dhaka Region Chair Dr. Mohammad Ali Noor welcomed the event.
Presidency University Vice-Chancellor Abul El Haque, ICPC Final Round Judge Shahriar Manzoor, Social Islami Bank Managing Director Zafar Alam, Therap BD Human Resource Director Major General (retd.) Mohammad Shamim Chowdhury, BUBT Trustee Shamsul Huda, Abu Saleh, AFM Sarwar Kamal were present at the prize distribution ceremony.
Before this, the preliminary competition of 1 thousand 745 teams from 117 colleges and universities of Bangladesh was completed on September 3. Based on the online preliminary competition, 165 teams from 104 colleges and universities were selected for the final competition. 165 teams consisting of 495 students participated in this programming competition under the supervision of 165 instructors from 104 educational institutions of Bangladesh.
After the prize distribution, a huge audience gathered at the BUBT campus to enjoy the performance of the ‘Shironamhin’ Band. In the midst of such a festival, Bangladesh has started preparing itself as the host country of the famous ACM ICPC programming competition in November.
