The Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology called upon every child to make them experienced in using online social platforms by spreading digital signature. Zunaid Ahmed Palak urged to spread the importance of cyber security social media management to save the children as ICT Division’s digital security.gov platform spreads to every child.
He also said that education, health, safety and dignity should be ensured for children by spreading morality and values among children and adolescents.
He made this call while speaking as a guest at the Girl Talk event organized by ‘Save the Children’ on Monday.
Palak said, being born in a matriarchal family, I consider everyone as a human being irrespective of gender, religion and caste. A national platform will be created to spread awareness from center to edge to ensure children’s rights.
The state minister urged the children present at the event to join the Janata Sarkar platform to take the reflection of their demands and wishes to the national level.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak also promised to set up one desk of ‘Save the Children’ in 300 Schools of Future spread across the country.
At the end of the speech, 10 prominent people signed the pledge to uphold the rights of girls.
Javed Patel, Deputy High Commissioner of the British High Commission in Dhaka, Deputy Head of Mission Stewards of Sweden Embassy, Christine Blue Khush, Country Representative of UNFP, Anuvan Manon, Country Director of Save the Children in Bangladesh and others signed the pledge among others.
The results of several focus group discussions with teenagers were released at the event.
The theme of this year’s Girl Child Day is “Given the Time, the Rights of the Girl Child”. The day is observed globally, including in Bangladesh, to facilitate the creation of a platform between girls and policy makers to understand the demands and rights of the girl child and act accordingly. This year’s program marked the 10th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl Child and organized sessions aimed at redefining the conventional notion of ‘girl talk’, including drama with children; Policy makers – development experts – direct group discussions with representatives of different countries and government officials in Bangladesh.
