Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited has signed an agreement with UPAY, a fast growing mobile financial services provider of the country.
As a result of this agreement, postpaid meter users of Karnaphuli Gas will be able to pay their bills through UPAY. The service will be launched soon after establishing the necessary technical connection between UPAY and Karnaphuli Gas.
Emon Kalyan Dutt, Chief Sales and Service Officer of UPAY and Company Secretary of Karnaphuli Gas Md. Feroze Khan recently signed this agreement on behalf of the respective companies.
Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited is a government-owned gas supplier responsible for gas supply in Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts (South- Eastern part of Bangladesh).
The Contract Signing Ceremony to facilitate bill payments was held at the Head Office of Karnafuli Gas Distribution Company Limited. Engineer Gautam Chandra Kundu (GM-Planning and Development), Engineer Aminur Rahman (GM-Marketing), Engineer Mu. Rais Uddin Ahmed (GM-IT and Prepaid Metering) Md. Matiur Rahman (GM-Finance), Md. Khairul Hasan (GM-Accounts), Engineer Hasan Sohrab (DGM-IT) and Assistant Director-East Cluster Rashedul Haque, GM-Business Sales Md. Iftekharuzzaman Chowdhury and DGM Mohammad Maqbul Hossain Bhuiyan were present in the ceremony among others.
In addition, SEVP of United Commercial Bank Md. Aman Ullah, EVP Tunku Humayun Md. Morshed, FVP Arfanul Islam and FVP Mehdi Hasan Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
United Commercial Bank’s subsidiary UPAY was officially launched on March 17, 2021. At present, UPAY offers a wide range of MFS services through both USSD and mobile apps.
Customers can perform all types of financial transactions through UPAY; such as cash-in, cash-out, utility bill payments, merchant and e-commerce payments; Apart from receiving remittances, salary and government allowances and mobile recharges; they can also avail exclusive services like traffic fine payment and Indian visa fee payment.
