The former research officer of the Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education was sued under the Digital Security Act for allegedly providing defamatory information on social media Facebook. The court formed a complaint against Abdur Razzak. On Wednesday (September 7), Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad As-shams Jaglul Hossain gave this order. At the same time, the court fixed November 7 as the date for taking the testimony. As a result, his trial officially began.
Before this, the lawyer of the accused side held a hearing seeking exemption from the charges in the case. On the other hand, the lawyer Md. Munjur Alam heard on behalf of the state. After hearing both the parties, the court rejected the plea of exemption and framed charges against the accused.
The court granted permission to the accused to speak during the charge-making hearing. At that time, the accused came to the lawyer’s dais and gave false information and false information against the plaintiff. Then the judge checked the information given by him and found it to be completely false. For which the judge scolded the accused.
It is said in the complaint of the case that the plaintiff in the case was the former project director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Dhaka. Through that project, 10 government secondary schools will be established in Dhaka city. The former research officer of the project accused Md. Abdur Razzaq. The accused’s ex-wife filed a case against him under the Dowry Prevention Act. Later he was temporarily dismissed from the secondary and higher secondary education department of the Ministry of Education as the complaint was made against the accused. Exasperated by this, the accused diverted the suspension order to a different sector. Spreading and sharing false, fabricated and fictitious information of corruption on social media Facebook and Messenger in the implementation of the project by targeting the plaintiff. Ran malicious propaganda against the development activities of the government. This was the violation of the government policy of the Ministry of Public Administration regarding the use of Facebook and other social media. A clear violation of the Digital Security Act-2020 and Government Servants (Conduct) Rules-1979. The plaintiff complained about this to Ramna police station. The accused is currently working as a lecturer in the Department of Accountancy in Noakhali Government College. Accused Md. Abdur Razzaq is son of Md. Hazrat Ali of Gokulnagar Village of Atgharia Thana under Pabna District.
