Along with financial inclusion, the ICT Division is also working on harmonizing and eliminating disparities between digital platforms. For that purpose, N. M. Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division said that a ‘Fintech Task Force’ will debut for the fintech sector in a few days.
He said, this taskforce will play a major role in coordinating the work of fintech sector. Also our IDTP ‘exchange’ will build a national infrastructure for the fintech sector. It will guide other fintechs. Then you can’t evade tax at will.
The official said that the ministry is the best in giving importance to the innovation of government services. One of the great strengths of digital devices is to eliminate the divide. Mobile financing systems now bring many unbanked under financial inclusion. We started working on interoperability in this regard a long time ago under the supervision of Honorable Advisor Sajeeb Wazed and ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak. We have to do that very carefully.
He also said that the implementation of Digital Bangladesh and the connectivity of the country is in a respectable condition, the work of financial inclusion has become easier now. We have already provided broadband internet to 40 Union Parishads. In the next 2-3 years this connection will spread across the country.
‘Nothing else in the world but this access can bridge the digital divide. We are working towards that goal’- he added.
