The National Science and Technology Museum held a meeting with students from various educational institutions and members of scientific organizations. Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of the museum, presided over the meeting held at Shere Bangla Nagar, Agargaon in the capital on Monday (September 5) as part of the organization’s regular activities.
In the meeting, various government officials, students and teachers of various schools and officials of young scientists and scientific organizations expressed their opinions. They said that it is possible to create a scientific revolution in the country with the endless opportunities created by the National Science and Technology Museum. The speakers called for the institutionalization of science museum activities at the marginal level. All the ongoing commendable activities of the Science Museum must be sustained.
In the President’s speech, Director General of Science Museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “In order to reach the marginal level of science education, Science Museum has already launched the museum’s mobile exhibition outside Dhaka at the district and upazila levels. Combining nature and science, the National Science and Technology Museum seeks to develop the latent innovative potential of students, researchers and budding scientists by disseminating the practice of science. The space for entertainment in Dhaka city is getting limited, Science Museum wants to sharpen science education in the minds of children through entertainment. In the future, the vision of digital Bangladesh will be realized by modernizing the activities of the science museum with the opinion of the stakeholders.”
Munir Hasan, Vice President of Science Popularization Society, Md. Omar Farooq of Shere Bangla Nagar Public Works Sub-Division, Rafat Ferdous, teacher of Shere Bangla Nagar Government Girls High School, Tamanna Noor-Preeti, student of College of Aviation Technology, Mahmud Meem of Science Popularization Society also spoke on the occasion.
At the end of the event, a mobile science exhibition was organized for the participants and courtesy gifts were distributed by the Science Museum. Antonov aircraft based learning session was held with the students of College of Aviation Technology on the same day.
