The election of the Executive Committee for the period of 2022-24 of Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum (BIJF), the national organization of journalists in the information technology sector, will be held on September 23. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar is an honorary member of this organization.
According to the election schedule signed by BIJF Election Commission Chairman Abdullah H Kafi, the primary list of voters was released on Monday. The list has been shared with BIJF members by mail. The final voter list will be published on August 26 with the feedback of the voters.
According to the draft list signed by the convener of the election convening committeeMd. Mojahedul Islam; Member Secretary Sheikh Al Amin Ruel and member Md. Zakir Hasan, the total number of voters of the organization is 54. Going through many hurdles of the organization, the voters will decide their new president, vice-president, general secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, organizing secretary, publication and research editor and executive member.
As per the schedule, nomination papers can be purchased from August 27 and the deadline for filing nomination papers is September 1. The preliminary list of candidates will be released on September 6. The deadline for withdrawal of candidature is September 9 and the final list of candidates will be published on September 10.
The Election Commission will announce the final results on September 25, after the election scheduled on September 23 from 9 am to 4 pm.
Two senior members of the organization Pallab Mohaimen and ARM Mahmud Hossain will conduct the election under the leadership of the Election Commissioner.
