For the first time in the country, digital management of graves of valiant freedom fighters has been inaugurated. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rezaul Karim inaugurated the use of digital system in grave management in the conference room of Kurigram Deputy Commissioner on Sunday (August 21) afternoon.
Dr. Manzoor-e-Murshed, Kurigram Civil Surgeon, Kurigram Government College Principal Mirza Nasir Uddin, Public Prosecutor Abraham Lincoln, Kurigram Mayor Kaziul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police Ruhul Amin, District Education Officer Shamsul Islam and others were also present at the opening ceremony.
A social organization called ‘Irresistible Kurigram’ has taken this initiative to use digital methods in grave management with the aim of presenting the graves of the best children of the nation and the stories of their bravery to the future generations.
In this regard, the organizers said, with the aim of accelerating the far-reaching development in the ICT sector and playing a special role in the implementation of Vision 2041 announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the overwhelming Kurigram has taken the initiative of digital grave management with the aim of presenting the tombs of the nation’s best children, the freedom fighters and their bravery stories to the next generation.
Not only the freedom fighters, but also the graves of common people will be included in this project. The relatives of the deceased will easily find the graves of their dead family members. Many times in cemeteries, one grave is placed on top of another and the previous grave cannot be found. There is not even a sign of whose grave was there. But using digital methods in grave management, they will get rid of this problem.
Antu Chowdhury, the founder of Irresistible Kurigram and the president of the organization, said that initially the information of 1,396 graves of the central cemetery of the district city and 86 graves of valiant freedom fighters of Phulbari in the district has been digitized.
