The newly elected Executive Council members of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) took oath a few days back. After the formal installation, the EC members paid tribute at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara, Gopalganj. The new executive committee headed by e-CAB President Shomi Kaiser, Vice President Sahab Uddin Shipon, General Secretary Md. Abdul Waheed Tamal, Joint General Secretary Nasima Akhter Nisha, Finance Secretary Asif Ahnaf, Directors Saidur Rahman, Shahriar Hasan and Ilmul Haque Sajeeb along with e-CAB Secretariat officials were present.
They left Dhaka on Wednesday (August 3) morning and paid tribute at Bangabandhu’s mausoleum in the afternoon. A special prayer was offered for the salvation of Bangabandhu’s departed soul.
At this time, General Secretary of Digital Bangladesh Liaquat Hossain, e-Cab General Manager Jahangir Alam Shobhan and leaders in charge of various committees of E-Cab were present.
The e-CAB leaders vowed to reduce the gap between the rich and the poor with the power of technology, eliminate the nuisance of corrupt business-people, bridge the gap between villages and cities through e-commerce, and take innovative steps to build a Bangladesh of equality as dreamed by Bangabandhu.
Earlier, the day after the landslide victory of the ‘Agrogami’ panel led by Shomi-Tamal in the polls, the e-CAB Executive Committee paid homage to Bangabandhu’s portrait at 32 Dhanmondi.
