The ‘Surokkha’ app has won the ‘Bangabandhu Public Administration Medal’ for its initiative in managing the Covid-19 vaccination. 96.1 million Citizens have already taken the corona vaccines through online registration through this app.
Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Ahmad Kaykaus, Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Department NM Zeaul Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Shahidul Islam and Surokkha Developer Unit received this award in the public service innovation category for such innovative and sustainable use of technology during the Covid-19 pandemic. Md. Haroon Or Rashid, Programmer of ICT Directorate received this award on behalf of the Chief Developer Unit.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque handed over the medals to them on behalf of the Prime Minister at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday (July 23).
Each received a gold medal, an honorary crest and a check of recognition as awards.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cheered everyone by clapping through video conference from Ganobhaban.
Cabinet Secretary Khandkar Anwarul Islam, Senior Secretary of Public Administration Ministry KM Ali Azam, President of Jatiya Sangsad Standing Committee on Public Administration Affairs AM Ashikur Rahman and others attended the ceremony presided over by State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain.
This time, in ‘General Administration and Management’ category, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has spread the peaceful philosophy of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the outside world and in ‘Development Administration’, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Water Resources have received the Bangabandhu Public Administration Medal. Ministry of Lands received institutional medal in ‘Reforms’ category for Land Information Bank.
In the field of ‘human development’, Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Azizur Rahman, Bagerhat Mollarhat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Wahid Hossain, Mollarhat Assistant Commissioner (Land) Anindya Mandal and Mollarhat Upazila Education Officer Md. Kamal Hossain received medals as a team.
