The project of digital transformation of education is nearing completion by implementing digital content teaching program in digital classrooms. Digital transformation of education from primary level through teacher training on teaching primary level students through digital content is in final stage. Directorate of Telecommunication is implementing this project funded by BTRC’s SOF fund for digital transformation of education in 650 government primary schools in underprivileged remote areas.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar inaugurated the teacher training program at the conference room of the Directorate of Telecommunications in Dhaka on Wednesday evening.
In the speech of the chief guest at the function organized on this occasion, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said that due to the development of digital technology, there will be no conventional education system in the world after five to ten years. Due to technological reasons, digital education is not as understandable for children as conventional education system can be. If conventional education is not converted to digital education, we have to face tough challenges. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Digital Bangladesh program is our driving force to move forward. Digital Bangladesh program is the main mantra to make us better than the developed world during the Covid-19 pandemic. Highlighting the fruitful contribution of teaching digital content to children who do not want to read, this pioneer of digital technology development said that children are able to complete their one-year syllabus in 2 months through playing.
Highlighting the example of a digital school in Purbadhala of Netrakona district, the minister said, children must be prepared for the future. He said, in 1987, I witnessed teaching using computers at the American International School in Bangladesh. The major challenge in implementing that concept was to convert our conventional paper textbooks into digital data. In continuation of the implementation of Digital Bangladesh program, since 2009, in the last thirteen years, we have been able to convert the curriculum to digital up to the fifth grade step by step. This is the first and so far the only digital database in the Bengali language to be created in the world. Mr. Mostafa Jabbar highlighted the various programs taken by the government to keep the life of the people of the country alive by using the benefits of digital technology during the Covid-19 pandemic. Existing education is no joy for students. The minister expressed strong hope that trainee teachers will make an important contribution in building digital human resources in the digital transformation of education by utilizing the knowledge gained through training.
The CEO of Bijoy Digital Limited Jasmine Juin presented the main article on digital content in the program presided over by Director General of Telecommunication Directorate Md. Abdul Mokaddem. Abdul Wahab, the concerned project director, and Ahsan Habib Tafadar, the managing director of Telephone Shilpa Sangstha TSS, spoke on the occasion.
In the original article, Jasmine Akhtar Juin emphasizes the importance of quality digital content in the digital transformation of education, saying that a good content will contribute fruitfully to the development of children’s talents. “They are able to finish the game in a short period of time with digital methods”, she said. Creating quality digital content for quality digital education in building a developed nation is a big challenge. She presented to the trainees the details of Hon’ble Minister’s unique efforts in creating digital content.
Trainee teachers gave their feedback on the occasion. They termed this program of digital transformation of education as an unprecedented initiative and sought the support of the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications to extend the project to class five in all primary schools in the country instead of limiting it to only 650 schools. The minister assured them of full cooperation in this regard. They shared their practical experience and said that digital content is a great opportunity for students along with digital classrooms in education to meet the challenges of tomorrow. They also drew the minister’s attention that no one should be deprived of this.
