The pre-admission (preliminary) examination of the first year undergraduate admission test in the 2021-22 academic year at Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) started from Saturday morning in two shifts. The exams of ‘A’ and ‘B’ groups in Shift-1 started from 10 am and ended at 11 pm. Eight thousand 517 candidates took part in this shift. In the second shift, the examinations of ‘A’ and ‘B’ groups held from 3 pm to 4 pm. Eight thousand 516 students took part in the exam in this shift.
In the pre-selection test, the candidates had to answer MCQs of 100 marks in one hour. Those who pass the exam will take part in the final admission test on June 18.
Earlier, the list of candidates eligible for the pre-selection examination was published. Out of the students who have applied for the admission test, 17,033 are getting the opportunity to participate in the pre-selection test.
According to BUET sources, the last date for publishing the list of eligible applicants for the main admission test is June 11. The final admission test will be held on June 18. The initial application for BUET graduate admission started from 10 am on April 16. Applications were received until 3pm on April 25.
The students had to pay taka1000 For application in pre-selection and original admission in group ‘A’ (engineering and departments and urban and regional planning departments) and one thousand two hundred Taka for group ‘B’ (engineering and departments, urban and regional planning department and architecture department). The students paid the fees through mobile banking.
There are a total of 1,279 seats, including three reserved for the Engineering Department and Urban and Regional Planning Department and one reserved seat in the Architecture Department for the candidates belonging to the minority ethnic groups in the CHT and other areas.
